(a) General study of the following Kavyas:
Ramayana; Mahabharata, Shrimad-Bhagavata, Buddha Charita, Saundarananda, Raghuvansha, Kumarasambhava,Meghadute, Ritusambara, Padyachudamani, Bhattikayya, Hayagrivavadha, Janaki Harana, Kiratarjuniya, Shishupala- vadha, Naishadhacarita, Shri Kantha charita, Harvijaya, Nalachampu, Rajatarangini, Vikraman- kadeva- charita and three Manjaris by Kshemendra.

(b) General study of the dramas of the following authors :

Bhasa, Ashvaghosha, Kalidasa, Shudraka Vishakhadatta, Shriharsha, Bhavabhuti, Rajshekhara, Murari, Jayadeva, Shri- krishna-Mishra.

(c) General study of the following prose writers :

Bana, Dandin, Subhbdhu, Vadhibhasimha, Dhanapala, Soddhala.

(iv) Vyakarans

(b) Karaka

(c) Kridanta
